Fine Dining in The Gallery Restaurant
Our aim in the Gallery Restaurant is to provide imaginative food, using the freshest possible locally sourced ingredients in relaxed surroundings. The Gallery Restuarant holds 3 AA Rosettes, which is recognised as a level of excellence for not just the food, but intuitive service along with an outstanding selection of wines.
Overlooking the Estate, the Gallery features a collection of artwork much of which has been sourced from Chatsworth House.
The Gallery is ideal for a traditional Sunday Lunch; relaxed comfortable surroundings, crisp linen and produce sourced from Chatsworth Estate producers.

Meet The Chef
Adam joined the Cavendish Hotel, Baslow on the Chatsworth Estate in Derbyshire, in October 2018. A graduate of Derby University, Adam’s apprenticeship course gave him a wide experience that fired the ambition to aim high resulting in a position as commis chef at the Michelin starred Fischer’s in Baslow.
From there his ambition also paid off when, after writing to a number of world renowned chefs, he was able to work at The French in Manchester under the acclaimed Simon Rogan. However, he was attracted back to Fischer’s, where he earned promotion rising to junior sous chef to Rupert Rowley. Ultimately it gave him the opportunity to take the reins at Rowley’s, a more informal sister restaurant to Fischer’s, where he was head chef for three years before joining The Cavendish.
During his first year at the helm, Adam was placed as ‘National Finalist’ in the prestigious Roux Scholarship 2019, as well as having influenced the hotel’s rise to five AA red star status and elevating The Gallery from its two AA rosette status, which it had held consistently since 2006, to three AA rosettes in 2020. Adam is married with a daughter and lives in Chapel le Frith, Derbyshire.
Locally Sourced - Chatsworth Estate Farm Shop
More than 60% of Chatsworth Farm shop products are either produced or prepared on the Chatsworth estate. The Cavendish Hotel use the farm shop as their main supplier of produce. Established by the Duchess of Devonshire in 1977, the shop sold beef and lamb from the estate farms, and venison from the park. Since then it’s developed and diversified, growing from strength to strength to become an acknowledged leader in its field.
The Chatsworth Estate Farm Shop is a vital part of the local agricultural community, supporting local farmers, market gardeners and small producers. More than a million people now visit the farm shop each year to sample some of this goodness for themselves.
